Turning Fifty

Turning Fifty

42.5" w x 44" H

This quilt was made for a challenge with a group of 6 quilters who all were turning fifty in 1999.  The 6 diamonds at the top of the quilt are the 6 challenge fabrics that we shared.  The challenge was to make a quilt on the theme of turning fifty using recognizable amounts of these fabrics and adding whatever additional fabrics we wished.  There was no size requirement.

My quilt uses L to represent the Roman numeral for fifty.  There are 50 of them and they are turning around.  There are also 2 pinwheels to aid in the turning.  There is a large number 50 in the quilting.
